Deals
A fixed number of hands
The sitting lasts a published deal count. Lowest accumulated leftover value wins the packet. Dropping early still writes a score. Stay only if you can finish every deal without raising the stake mid-packet.
Pool
A chip ceiling
Each player starts with a pool. Crossing the published ceiling removes that player. Pool punishes a late wrong show harder than Points. Sit Pool only when you already know the drop and rejoin rules on the live table ticket.
How leftover cards become a score
These values follow common 13-card Indian rummy practice. The live table ticket can still print a house exception. Read that ticket before chips move.

Pickup, discard, then a valid show
The photograph below is a chapter break, not a tutorial overlay. The numbered notes are the only claims this desk will defend.
- Draw one card from the stock or the open discard. Taking the discard publishes your interest in that rank or suit.
- Discard one card face up. A discarded joker is usually dead for the rest of the hand. Confirm the live rule.
- Declare only after two sequences exist, including one pure sequence, and the remaining cards form legal sets or sequences.
Meld anatomy
Sequences, sets, printed jokers
A group that looks tidy can still fail validation. The board names the three tests a show must pass.
- Pure sequence
- Three or more consecutive cards of one suit with no joker. Without this group the show is invalid.
- Impure sequence
- A run that uses a printed joker or a wild joker as a substitute. Useful, never a substitute for the pure run.
- Set
- Three or four cards of one rank in different suits. Two cards of the same suit and rank from two decks are not a set.
A grouped hand can still be a wrong show
The usual failure is a missing pure sequence. The second failure is a set that repeats a suit. Both write a penalty on Points and can end a Pool sitting.
Example: 4-5-6 of hearts with a joker, 9-9-9 in mixed suits, and 2-3-4 of clubs with a joker looks finished. It is not. There is no pure sequence. Pressing show here is a documented way to donate the hand.

A good discard can still lose the hand
